About the Illustrator

Luisto+ Quintana Paris, illustrator

In the middle of the crazy and wild ’70s, “somewhere in La Mancha, in a place whose name I do care to remember”, as the great “Don Quixote de La Mancha” was born Luisto+ Quintanar Paris.

He is an avid and fervent artist, with a roaring passion for painting and doodling. Although professionally occupied in other endeavours, such as a waiter or builder, he expertly intertwines his career with his profound passion.

In that village, surrounded by giants and windmills, is where his hobby for drawing comics, stories, etc., begins and continues. As a kid, he attends the painting school in his hometown, masterminded and mentored by the great Manchego painter and artist Isidro Antequera, culminating in a comic drawing course in Almagro, guided by the renowned painter and comic artist Victor Barba.

A lover of comics of all styles, particularly superheroes, with a nod to his major influence, Asterix. He draws by hand, as he loves the traditional engagement with the characters that he creates. And now, more recently, he is adapting his ability to digital drawing.

No assignments are too challenging for him, whether creating posters for local history or festivities. Hence, when the path of this almost self-taught artist crosses with Santos CS Bermejo, immersing him in the delightful madness called “Cuentos del Medway,” he doesn’t hesitate to embark on this new adventure.
